During December 2-7, a 5-person delegation headed by Dr. Li Junxiong, assistant director of Bureau of International Cooperation, CAS, and Dr. Cao Min, deputy director of XTBG, went to visit the Kingdom of Cambodia at the invitation of Dr. Mok Mareth, Cambodian Minister of Environment.
The delegation visited Cambodian Ministry of Environment, Chinese Economic and Commercial Councelor’s Office in the Kingdom of Cambodia, had discussions and exchanges on the botanical garden to be established. They also made an on-site visit to the Phnom Kulen National Park.
On December 5, Dr. Yin Kin Sean, Cambodian vice minister of environment, met the delegation. Prof. Li Junxiong and Prof. Cao Min presented the visit purposes and necessary facilities for the construction of the botanical garden. They exchanged ideas on the candidate place and further cooperation plans. Dr. Yin Kin Sean expressed gratitude to China and said that they would actively carry out preparing work for the establishment of the Botanical Garden. The two sides signed a Memorandum of Agreement for collaboration for future program application.
When visiting Chinese Economic and Commercial Councelor’s Office in the Kingdom of Cambodia, relevant leaders of the Embassy said that they would actively support the construction of the Botanical Garden.
The delegation included Prof. Li Qingjun, Mr. Yin Shouhua, XTBG director assistant and an associate professor, and Ms. Li Liming who’s mainly in charge of XTBG foreign affairs.
