On May 17, the CAS Public Science Day and the opening day of the National Science and Technology Week (from May 17 to 23, 2008), XTBG opened its door to the general public, especially the pupils and students of local schools. At the opening ceremony, XTBG held public education activities themed with “Green Olympics, Plant Homeland” at the Brilliant Tropical Flowers Garden in bloom.

With “Green Olympics” as its central theme, XTBG offered public lectures, had games and demonstration programs with students, and showed visitors around the living collections, etc.

 The participating students said that they have had a better understanding on the Green Olympics, and better realized the importance of green homeland for human beings, meanwhile their awareness of protecting environment was increased.
