To mark the week-long 2008 National Science Popularization Day which started on September 19, XTBG held various activities. The Xiangming Township, a well-known origin place for Pu’er tea, was chosen as its main venue.

Under the theme of eco-environmental protection, XTBG held lectures on such topics as “man and forest”, “protecting our environment”, etc during September 21-22. Exhibitions themed “food saving”, “pollution control” and “Green action for protecting environment” were shown for the rural youth, students and farmers as well.

The themed exhibitions attracted about 300 visitors. Organizers distributed over 100 booklets and answered questions for how to care for the environment and reduce energy consumption in daily lives.
