During the National Science Popularization Day (Sep 19-21), the kids of XTBG kindergarten were organized to take part in a few playful games. Through games, their curiosity and enthusiasm to nature were awakened. The 60 kids in the kindergarten were divided into 3 groups to take different games.

The group of kids less than four years old was led to “seek colors in nature”. The kids collected a lot of plant litters in colors of yellow, red, orange, green, brown, pink, grey, black, white, etc. The organizers taught the kids to open their eyes to observe nature.

Look, I've got flowers in pink and white!

The kids between four and five years old went to the Energy Plant Collection. A small zigzagging route was prepared for them to find some common natural objects by using their senses of touch, smell, and hearing. They got a direct experience of the natural surroundings.

For the kids between five and six years old, a game named “distinguishing natural and non-natural products” was prepared at the Fruit Garden. They were encouraged to seek such objects as fruits and daily waste commodities. Afterwards, the teachers and kids gathered and tell them how to distinguish natural and non-natural objects; what commodities are recyclable and what not.

Oh, I got a fruit.

Haha, I'm awarded.

The organizers were inspired by the book Sharing Nature with Children to conduct the games.

P.S. The theme of this year’s science popularization day is energy conservation, environmental protection and health and safety.
