41 pupils from Kunming Lianhua Primary School opened the winter camp in XTBG during January 9-13, which marked the winter camp activities kicked off. As other camps over the past times, the winter camp was aimed at leading children to have a better understanding on tropical rainforest, having intimate contact with nature, and increasing their awareness of protecting ecological environment and loving nature.

In addition to such activities as having a scientific exploration in the tropical rainforest, watching wildlife in the night, ecological games, ethnic culture travel, etc., the camp participants got a chance to closely work with the scientists, namely “Hands in hands between scientists and kids” activity. They were also shown around the Central Laboratory and the Herbarium.

From January 9 on, 11 groups of campers from Beijing, Wuhan, Pu’er and other places will come in succession to XTBG to have camp activities.

The amazing, fun, creative, and educational camp will give children the opportunity to experience unique winter activities in tropical rainforest and lasting holiday memories.
