Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) is at another peak season of summer camps. Science exploration camps, parent-kid camps attract numerous participants to get their brains and bodies moving.

XTBG summer camps provide quality science education in an outdoor, hands-on setting. The campers learn and paly as they experiment, create, build, and ask questions, while enjoying nature. Experienced educators lead campers to have fun and learning through hands-on nature exhibits, education programs and recreation activities that increase awareness and appreciation of the natural environment.

Up to now, many campers from Beijing, Wuhan, Hong Kong, Kunming, Hebei, etc. have participated in the summer camps. They detect mystery in the tropical rainforest, sense nature, seek exotic and distinctive tropical plants, and so on. Nature journaling, and sightseeing the garden in the evening all make the child’s knowledge and passion for science prow along with her or him.

A training course for science teachers of primary schools in Xishuangbanna was held in the summer camp season. Through training, the teachers are expected to better introduce science concepts in a fun environment and increase environmental awareness.

The summer camps are still going on. More people will come play and learn in XTBG. They will experience adventure in the great outdoors and enjoy the summer weather – rain or shine.
