The Chinese Paintings of Tropical Rainforest: the 5th Exhibition was opened in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) on September 25. This is the fifth time of the “Where art meets science” event.  The exhibition is located at the Art Exhibition Hall on the first floor of the Environmental Education Center. The exhibition aims to showcase the unique charm and biodiversity of tropical rainforests while promoting a deep integration of art and science.

This exhibition has gathered 84 selected works from artists across the country, each of which is a profound interpretation of the unique charm of tropical rainforests. The artists, with their unique perspectives and exquisite skills, capture the fleeting vitality and natural landscapes in the tropical rainforests, allowing the public to appreciate the magic and beauty of tropical rainforests on canvas. These works are not only a visual feast but also a touch to the soul, inspiring the public's appreciation of natural beauty, pursuit of scientific light, and attention to biodiversity conservation.

The protection of tropical rainforests requires not only the efforts of scientists but also the participation and support of the whole society. The organizers hope that by continuously holding various exhibitions, more people will be inspired to join the action of biodiversity conservation.

The “Art meets science: Chinese Paintings of Tropical Rainforest” exhibition is held every two years, since its launch in 2016. The works have been expanded from Chinese flower-and-bird paintings to include ecological photography, museum painting, local art creation, and odd stones and objects, achieving an educational model that integrates multiple disciplines such as plant appreciation, tropical natural aesthetics, and ethnic ecological culture.

The exhibition will last from September 25 to February 6, 2025. Come and feast your eyes with the fine paintings of tropical rainforest in Xishuangbanna.
