Dr. He Liangliang and Dr. Zhu Xiai of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden are on the list of laureates for 2020 CAS President Awards. Dr. He Liangliang is honored with the Special Prize of CAS Presidential Scholarship. Dr. Zhu Xiai receives CAS President Excellence Award. 

During his studies in XTBG, He Liangliang focused on research of plant functional genes. He has got his research results published in such journals as Nature Plants, New Phytologist, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, etc.  

Dr. Zhu Xiai’s studies are about ecohydrology, focusing on soil erosion caused by land use changes and influencing factors. In his doctoral thesis, he tried to reveal water conservation mechanism of rubber agroforesty systems in Xishuangbanna. He has published studies in such journals as Plant and Soil，Soil & Tillage Research, Land Degradation and Development, etc. 

The President Awards are the top honor for graduate students at Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Receiving of this award reflects the improvement in innovation capability and training quality of graduate students at XTBG.
