Project: Making Mekong Connected: Developing carbon and biodiversity assets for multifunctional landscapes in the Upper Mekong
Background:
The MMC project is conducting research into how biodiversity and carbon vary in the landscape in the upper Mekong region to develop methods for assessing biodiversity and carbon assets. The landscape comprises a mixture of old growth tropical rain forest, secondary forests at different stages of recovery from swidden farming, swidden fields, small scale tea plantations, orchards, rice fields, and degraded grasslands at approximately 600 m to 1000 m in elevation.
