POSTDOCTORAL POSITION in Plant Ecophysiology Lab

The Plant Ecophysiology Lab at the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), Yunnan invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral position in Ecological Plant Physiology. The Plant Ecophysiology Lab is a group led by Dr. Jiaolin Zhang (PI). The aim is to build up an international team of researchers and postgraduate students with numerous collaborations with Chinese and international organizations. The Plant Ecophysiology Lab is based in a new research facility in the gardens. XTBG is part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), through which these appointments will be made. Highly qualified candidates who are interested in research in any of the following or related areas are encouraged to apply: Ecological Plant Physiology, or Plant Physiology, or Plant Ecology, or Forest Ecology (with some background in Community assembly). The successful candidate will be encouraged to conduct researches related to the following research projects:

a) The evolution of plant hydraulic traits and ecological adaptation of tropical rainforest trees.

b) The impact of lianas on forest carbon balance.

The candidate's responsibilities, along with their independent research, would include: the development of postgraduate training and research; obtaining external funding; and publication in leading international journals. The successful candidate will benefit from CAS's established research programs and field stations. XTBG has strong cooperative relationship with the local and provincial governments and surrounding countries in developing important and compelling collaborations.

Candidates with a strong record of accomplishment should submit a CV, statement of research interests/plans, and pdfs of two publications.
