XTBG has been designated as the National-level Education Base for Wild Plant Conservation by the China Wild Plant Conservation Association (CWPCA) recently. In total 14 botanical gardens have been designated as the national base, 6 gardens subordinate to the Chinese Academy of Sciences included.
The China Wild Plant Conservation Association (CWPCA) is a non-governmental organization set up in October 2003. Under the direction of state guidelines on wild plant protection, the association unites social forces and promotes knowledge of wild plants to improve public awareness. The State Forestry Administration is in charge of the association, and the professional work is guided by the State Forestry Administration and the Ministry of Agriculture. |
