On November 23, Xishuangbanna Troipcal Botanical Garden (XTBG), Beijing Institute of Genomics (BIG), and Xishuangbanna Prefectural People’s Government reached consensus on establishing the National Engineering Research Center for Biodiesel Fuel at XTBG. The three sides signed a cooperation agreement.

The cooperation agreement covers the topics like innovative scientific research, establishment of experiment base, exchanges of visiting scholars, personnel training, commercialization of research findings, and industrialization of biological energy, etc. The three sides agreed that one million RMB would be invested, and preparing work should be carried out immediately. The research center is affiliated with XTBG.

  Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Jiang Pusheng, the CPC secretary of Xishuangbanna committee, Prof. Chen Jin, director of XTBG, Prof. Yang Huanming, director of BIG, and other concerned superintendents. At the signing ceremony, XTBG signed another two cooperation agreements respectively  with BIG and Xishuangbanna Prefectural People’s Government. Afterwards, representatives of the three sides made a site visit to where the research base for the National Engineering Research Center for Biodiesel Fuel is to be set.
