Mr. Wang Tingda, who is head of the Disciplinary Inspection Team designated by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and secretariat member of the CPC CAS Committee, made an investigate-and-study tour to XTBG from June 15 to 18. His tour was accompanied by Mr. Peng Yushui, the CPC Secretary of CAS Kunming Branch.
On June 16, Prof. Chen Jin, director of XTBG, made a report on the development of the Garden to the inspecting team, focusing on the achievements made since the implementation of the Knowledge Innovation Program and long-and-mid term development planning. He also reported the work on discipline inspection.
Fully acknowledging the achievements made by the Garden, Mr. Wang Tingda also mentioned that more efforts should be taken in the construction of thought style and bringing the role of discipline inspection into full play. Mr. Wang is also very optimistic about the future of XTBG.
During the stay in Xishuangbanna, Mr. Wang Tingda looked around XTBG, including the elite living plant collections, the Rainforest Ethnic Culture Museum, and the scientific facilities. Dr. Chen Jin and deputy director Li Hongwei also accompanied their tours to the neighboring villages of minority ethnic groups.
