Monograph on Chinese ginger plants published by Science Press

An Introduction to Chinese Ginger Plants, a monograph authored by XTBG scientists Gao Jiangyun, Xia Yongmei, Huang Jiayuan and Li Qingjun, has been recently published by Science Press in Beijing.

                                                                 

  Since the 1960s, some XTBG scientists have been engaged in the introduction, domestication and collection of ginger plants (Zingiberaceae) and taken Zingiberaceae as important research objects. The largest ginger garden in China has been established in XTBG in 2004 with the support from CAS and Yunnan Province.

 

   The book presents a comprehensive introduction of ginger plants (Zingiberaceae) illustrated by many photos, including the usages, morphological and biological characteristics, geographical distribution, ornamental applications, pollination and breeding, etc.
