CAS Vice President Cao Jianlin listens to work report by XTBG

On July 13, Prof. Cao Jianlin, CAS vice president and secretariat member of the CPC CAS committee, listened to a work report by XTBG in Jinghong, capital city of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. The work report was made by Dr. Chen Jin, director of XTBG.

After listening to the work report, vice president Cao Jianlin stated that “with beautiful environment and good reputation, Xishuangbanna is like a business card of the whole nation”. He also said that XTBG has made great achievements in the past years and more will be gained in the third phase of the Knowledge Innovation Program, XTBG has cooperated very well with the local government, which will help to fulfill its long and medium development prospect. Dr. Cao suggested that XTBG should bring high technologies as support to the basic research of plant science since the future development requires more collaborative and interdisciplinary studies.

 

  Vice president Cao expressed his gratitude to XTBG leaders and staff for their hard work in the remote area, Menglun. He will also introduce relevant research groups to cooperate with XTBG, so as to create better platform and environment for the development of the Garden.

 

  Mr. Peng Yushui, the CPC secretary of CAS Kunming Branch accompanied Dr. Cao’s first visit to Xishuangbanna. Relevant leaders of Xishuangbanna prefectural government warmly welcomed his visit.
