At the invitation of President Zhang Zhuangxin of CAS Kunming Branch, XTBG deputy director Peng Daiping and Prof. Hu Huabin went to see about the science and technology development in Bijie Area, Guizhou province. On October 26, a comprehensive Science & Technology cooperation agreement was signed between CAS Kunming Branch and the local government of Bijie prefecture.

  The cooperation agreement focused on the following aspects:

a.       Vegetation restoration and control of rocky desertification in Karst areas;

b.       Development and utilization of traditional Chinese medicinal natural resources;

c.       Study on ecological animal husbandry development;

d.       Study and practice of ecological agriculture.

   Prof. Zhang Zhuangxin required all the institutes subordinate to CAS Kunming Branch to actively participate in the implementation of the cooperation agreement, so as to enhance CAS-locality cooperation and contribute to the economic development of Bijie prefecture.

   Headed up by Prof. Zhang Zhuangxin, related leaders, program coordinators and scientists from KIB, KIZ, Yunnan Astronomical Observatory, and Institute of Geochemistry also visited Bijie area.
