The opening ceremony for XTBG Sports Meeting 2006 was held on the evening of November 10 at the headquarters of the Garden, with the presence of major leaders like Chen Jin, Cao Min and the staff.

The opening ceremony was hosted by deputy director Li Hongwei. Dr. Chen Jin, director of XTBG, delivered a speech. At the opening ceremony, representatives of players and judges vowed to carry forward the sports spirits of solidarity and go-aheadism in this sports meeting in principle of justice and staidness.

The retired staff performed fan dancing for the opening ceremony. And the staff from Kunming Division made a wonderful group performance.

After the splendid opening ceremony, it comes the competition time. Student athletes and staff athletes are competing in many events, including middle-distance race, rope skipping, tug-of-war, basketball, volleyball, ping pong, and games, etc., most of which are gone along with the high expectations and cheers from the heated spectators.

The sports meeting is now smoothly under way. All the staff members and students actively participated in the competition and communication. Although it is an honor to get the champion, happiness derived from the competitions is much more valuable. Friendship goes first, while competition goes second.

The sports meeting will last until November 15. We are confident that it will be a complete success.
