In order to encourage more talented people to contribute to the social and economic development of Yunnan Province, the People’s Government of Yunnan Province made a decision to award or grant special subsidy to those who have made outstanding contributions. In 2006, Prof. Cao Kunfang of XTBG is among the winners. He will enjoy a special subsidy from the provincial government.

    Dr. Cao Kunfang is a recruit of the CAS Century Program (or Hundreds-Talent Program) and leading research professor of Plant Physiological Ecology in XTBG. He sits on the editorial boards of some journals like Forest Ecology and Management, Journal of Plant Ecology, Biodiversity Science, etc. 

   In addition, Dr. Cao is a member of the CPPCC Yunnan Provincial Committee. He ever received a National Medal for Outstanding Overseas Student Returnees.
