Project Proposal for Research Platform of Bioenergy & Conservation Biology passes review

The expert panel for the assessment of infrastructure construction projects for research and education in the third phase of Knowledge Innovation Program paid an inspection tour to XTBG during April 16-18. XTBG’s Project Proposal for Comprehensive Research Platform of Bioenergy & Conservation Biology passed the screening and assessment by the panel.

 

  Entrusted by Dr. Chen Jin (director), deputy director Li Hongwei reported the project recommendation to the experts. Afterwards the panel of experts made filed investigations on the spot and reviewed the experiment base for resource plants. The panel experts reached agreement that the project is in line with the 11th five-year plan for National Independent Innovation Ability Construction, and the general planning and deploying on infrastructure programs of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Some valuable advice for amending and enriching the Proposal was put forward by experts.

 

 

 

  The expert panel, entrusted by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), was comprised of senior engineers as Hu Yuanming, Zhang Yuan, Liu Fuxin, and Zhang Ling from China International Engineering Consulting Corporation. Chief engineer Xing Shufen of CAS Bureau of Capital Construction, President Zhang Zhuangxin of CAS Kunming Branch accompanied the experts to XTBG.

 

 

  Dr. Cao Min, deputy director of XTBG, together with relevant personnel for the project, attended the assessment meeting.

 

 The implementation of the project for Comprehensive Research Platform of Bioenergy & Conservation Biology is expected to further improve scientific research facilities of the Garden and provide solid support for building XTBG into a world first-class botanical garden.
