On August 3, Prof. Li Jiayang, CAS vice president in charge of biological research, paid an inspection tour to XTBG Kunming Division, in the company of Prof. Kang Le, director-general of the CAS Bureau of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, and Prof. Zhang Zhuangxin, president of CAS Kunming Branch.

  The vice president listened to a work report “On the work progress and future development of XTBG” made by the director Prof. Chen Jin. He also held talks with executives and some principal researchers on such issues as the scientific facilities, layout of staff residential district and scientific research area, and international cooperation. Prof. Li Jiayang pointed out that the scientific research and gardening should complement each other so as to form XTBG unique characteristics. He gave positive acknowledgement to the achievements and encouraged the staff to strive for a better development in every aspect.

   Prof. Cao Min, deputy director of XTBG, presided over the meeting.
