The CAS Working Conference on Personnel and Talents in Western China was held in Lanzhou from July 31 to August 1. XTBG deputy director Li Hongwei, Prof. Cao Kunfang and Mr. SHE Yuping attended the meeting.

 China is in need of professionals. The western regions are especially short of talents. In order to boost the large-scale development of CAS institutes in western regions and innovative abilities of scientific personnel, CAS has implemented a series of strategies. The working conference was aimed at exchanging experiences and solving problems.

  Eight institutions as Lanzhou Branch and XTBG introduced their experiences in talents introduction and personnel training. On behalf of XTBG, Mr. Li Hongwei briefed the talents work of the Garden to the 80 plus representatives from institutes affiliated to CAS.
