Deeper cooperation potentiality between Huanglianshan Nature Reserve and XTBG

During September 8-9, a 28-person staff group from Mt. Huanglianshan National Nature Reserve paid a two-day visit to XTBG. The aim was to seek further cooperation opportunities with XTBG.

   When meeting with the visiting group, Prof. Hu Huabin briefed the development of XTBG. Mr. Bai Zuowen, head of Huanglianshan National Nature Reserve, expressed gratitude to XTBG for warm reception and willingness to jointly conduct research programs on biodiversity conservation and sustainability management.

 

    Some XTBG scientists and students have ever carried out plant introduction and field studies at Huanglianshan. And good cooperation ties have been established. Much potentiality existed for deeper cooperation.

 

  Established by the Yunnan provincial government in Luchun County I 1983, the Mt. Huanglianshan Nature Reserve was upgraded to a national level in October 2003. Huanglianshan National Nature Reserve covers a total area of 65,058 hectares. It is noted monsoon broad-leafed evergreen forest ecosystem and other diverse wildlife.
