Prof. Rao Yi talks about motivation for scientific research

  Prof. Rao Yi, a famous biologist and Dean of School of Life Sciences of Peking University, paid a visiting tour to XTBG recently. He delivered a lecture entitled “Motivation for scientific research” to XTBG scientific personnel and students at the invitation of Dr. Chen Jin, director of XTBG.

 

   Sharing his experience and interest in scientific research over the past 20 plus years, Prof. Rao Yi said that scientists should set positive motivations for scientific research and enjoy the pleasure of finding things out. He also talked about ways to deal with frustrations and risks in scientific research. The interactive communication between Dr. Rao and the listeners were pleasant.

 

   Prof. Rao Yi is famous for researching molecular biology of neural development. He is the editor of both international and domestic academic publications, such as NeuroScience. He is also a doctoral supervisor in the Institute for the History of Natural Science of CAS.
