On February 21, XTBG leaders had discussion with General Manager Gou Ping of Yunnan Shenyu New Energy Company on cooperation between the two sides, after a field visit to XTBG development base of energy plants.

   Briefing the general situation and needs for science & technology support, General Manager Gou Ping proposed intent of long-term cooperation with XTBG. Dr. Chen Jin and Mr. Peng Daiping introduced the Garden’s deployment and research advances in biological energy. Both sides reached a preliminary intention for cooperation. Further measures are to be employed to deepen and implement the cooperation in the near future.

Yunnan Shenyu New Energy Company is principally engaged in the research and development of Jatropha curcas based biological energy sources, such as bio-diesel. The company has set up seedling bases and planting bases. It has also carried out research and development of breed improvement, planting techniques, diseases and pest control techniques, bio-diesel production and processing techniques.
