A study group consisted of researchers from Rutger University, McMaster Universityand Kunming Institute of Botany (KIB) conducted a four-day research at Ailaoshan Station from July 14 to 17.  Their mission focused on the investigation of macro-fungi diversity and sample collection for population genetics study of Russula. sp, a main economic fungi in Ailaoshan.

Having had field investigation in Ailaoshan for three years, the study group has collected a lot of research materials and original data. Their long-term research on population genetics and molecular ecology has provided theoretical basis for the development, rational use and protection of macro-fungi resources in Ailaoshan.
