China’s first ASEAN ambassador Xue Hanqin visits XTBG

   Ms. Xue Hanqin, China’s first ambassador to the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), paid a visit to XTBG on February 8.

 

    Meeting with the senior woman diplomat, Dr. Chen Jin presented Looking back upon 50 years of XTBG, a historical picture album in commemoration of XTBG’s development over the past 50 years.

 

 

     Dr. Hu Huabin accompanied the ambassador’s tour within the Garden, introducing cooperation and exchanges between XTBG and ASEAN countries.

 

     Having an understanding on XTBG’s contribution to regional biodiversity conservation, the ambassador said that she may provide some coordination assistance for promoting further cooperation with ASEAN countries.

 

 

Dr. Xue Hanqin is a “senior diplomat and expert on international law”, who served as ambassador to the Netherlands and permanent representative to the Organization on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. She has also been head of the department of treaty and law in the Foreign Ministry.
