The nameplate-unveiling ceremony of CAS Key Laboratory of Tropical Forest Ecology was held at XTBG on March 1. An academic symposium was jointly held. The inaugural ceremony was attended by officials and professors from CAS and relevant research institutions and universities.

     Prof. Dr. Cao Min assumes as director of the Key Lab and Prof. Dr. Chen Jin is proposed as chairman of its Scientific Committee.

     At the first academic meeting, Prof. Cao Min introduced the research orientations, teams，long and medium-term plans of the Lab. Prof. Chen Jin conferred Appointment Letters on members of the Academic Committee.

    After the conclusion of the ceremony, four scientists (Prof. Feng Yulong, Prof. Chuck Cannon, Prof. Chen Jin and Prof. Douglas W. Yu) made lectures on their recent research advances respectively.
