Botanist discovers a new record of plant from Yunnan

   While doing floral survey in Pu’er, Yunnan, Mr. Wang Hong, executive curator of the Herbarium of XTBG collected the specimen of Rhododendron bachii H. Lév which was found to be a new record of Yunnan.

 

   The specimen was collected in a montane rainforest at an elevation of 1800 meters. The specimen is now stored in the Herbarium of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, with the collection number as Wang Hong 8776.

 

   Rhododendron bachii H. Lév is naturally distributed in Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Huhei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan and Guizhou. It’s found in Yunnan for the first time in March.
