Mr. Zhang Quanjing, former minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, paid an inspection tour to XTBG on June 21. His inspection focused on the campus construction of XTBG. Many officials from CAS and Yunnan provincial government accompanied the visit.

After listening to a work report by Mr. Li Hongwei, deputy director of XTBG, the former minister made field visits to campus construction projects.

While showing the officials around the living collections, Prof.Dr. Zhou Zhekun, deputy director of XTBG, introduced measures to protect plant species diversity.

The former minister also planted a memorial tree, Cleidiocarpon cavaleriei, an edible oil woody plant.
