Mr. HE Guoqiang, who is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made an inspection tour to XTBG on Feburary 26.

In the company of Prof. Chen Jin and Mr. Li Hongwei, senior official HE Guoqiang visitied the living collections and tropical rainforest within XTBG.

Dr. Chen Jin reported the master planning and achievements in scientific research, species preservation and public education.

While learning about that XTBG has been keeping good cooperation ties with Xishuangbanna government and made contributions to local development, Mr. HE Guoqiang encouraged XTBG to further improve economic development of Xishuangbanna and contribute more to tropical rainforest protection.

Mr. HE Guoqiang planted a Pometia tomentosa tree in the Commemorative Plant Garden for memory.(Pometia tomentosa is a dominant uppermost canopy tree and a symbol species of vallyland forest in Xishuangbanna tropical rainforest.)

Yunnan Governor Qin Guangrong and other officials of local government accompanied the inspection tour.
