XTBG scientists funded by Wong Kuan-Cheng Education Foundation

Prof. Peng Yanqiong of XTBG has been recently granted the “CAS Wang Kuancheng Award for Outstanding Achievements to Western Scholars” .She is one of the 20 young scientists who won the honor in 2012.

Dr. Peng Yanqiong focused her studies on co-evolution of figs and fig wasps and has made her research published in many international peer-reviewed journals.

CAS Wang Kuancheng Award for Outstanding Achievements to Western Scholars was established by CAS to honor outstanding western scholars in innovation in basic and applied science fields to encourage them to devote themselves to local economy growth.

Up to 2012, four XTBG scientists (Feng Yulong, Liu Wenjie, Zhang Shibao and Peng Yanqiong) have won the honor.

In addition, Dr. Wang Li won the CAS Wang Kuancheng Award for Excellent Post-doctors. He is the third of XTBG who won the honor. The other two were Cao Guoxing and Xing Yaowu. CAS Wang Kuancheng Award for Excellent Post-doctors" is established to upgrade CAS post-doctor team construction and attract more and more excellent young talents.

 Moreover,Prof. Zhou Zhekun and Prof. Zhang Yiping will be funded by Wong Kuan-Cheng Education Foundation for International Academic Exchange to participate in the International Palynological Congress (IPC-XIII 2012) and 9th International Organization of Palaeobotany (IOPC IX 2012), and Eco Summit 2012 respectively.
