Mr. Zheng Wantong, vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), paid an inspection tour to XTBG on May 11. He headed up a CPPCC delegation for speeding up the opening and development in western border regions of China. Xishuangbanna is one for stop for the delegation.

Dr. Chen Jin briefed the development of XTBG to the officials and showed them around the living collections and Museum.

Vice Chairman Zheng Wantong was deeply impressed by the rich rare plant species and beautiful landscapes. He acknowledged the right development directions of XTBG.

Accompanying the tour were vice Governor Luo Zhengfu of Yunnan province and other officials at different levels.
