Xishuangbanna is prepared for actively participating in the project of Phase II for biodiversity conservation corridor under the Core Environment Program (CEP) of Asian Development Bank (ADB). A leading committee for constructing biodiversity conservation corridors was formed in early February.

Mr. Yang Sha, vice governor of Xishuangbanna, is appointed as chairman of the Committee. Dr. Chen Jin, director of XTBG, is one of the three vice chairmen. Profs. Zhu Hua and Hu Huabin of XTBG are technical consultants.

XTBG was a partnership agency in GMS CEP-BCI program Phase I initiated in 2006. In Phase II, more efforts will be made to upgrade and strengthen outcomes from Phase I.
