On the morning of August 2013, the opening ceremony of the XTBG first summer camp for outstanding college students was held at the conference hall at the headquarters of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG). 30 students from 20 universities attended the camp.

 On behalf of XTBG, deputy director Zhou Zhekun expressed a warm welcome to all campers and gave a brief introduction to the Garden. He hoped that the campers get happiness and experience success through the visit, study, communication and other activities to approach and understand XTBG.

   The XTBG first summer camp for outstanding college students will last in Xishuangbanna until August 6. A series of activities will be involved, including introduction of current development of XTBG, special themed lectures, academic salon, laboratory tours, field trips to the 20-ha tropical forest dynamics plot, visiting the lime forest, etc.
