The Key Laboratory of Tropical Plant Resource and Sustainable Use, Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was set up on December 13. On the same day, the first Academic Committee Meeting of the Key Lab was held at XTBG.

The Academic Committee Meeting was chaired by CAS Academician SUN Handong. XTBG director Chen Jin gave a welcome speech. Prof. XU Zengfu, director of the key lab, gave a presentation on the positioning, lab layout, research directions, as well as short or mid-long term development plan of the Lab. Afterwards, members of the Academic Committee proposed suggestions to the academic development and administrative operation of the Key Lab.

  Academician Sun Handong together with Dr. Chen Jin unveiled the plaque for the Key Laboratory of Tropical Plant Resource and Sustainable Use.

 After the unveiling ceremony, Profs. Sun Handong, Ma Lvyi, Yue Jianmin, and Zhao Zhong delivered lectures to scientific staff and students here.
