On April 26, Wang Qinmin, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CCPCC) and President of All China Federation of Industry and Commerce, paid a visit to Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) for an inspection of public education and tourism. Mr. Shao Qiwei, director of the National Tourism Administration of China, accompanied the tour.

Prof. Li Qingjun, deputy director of XTBG, showed the guests around the living collections and the Tropical Rainforest Ethnic Culture Museum. Li Qingjun briefed XTBG’s achievements in scientific research, species conservation, tourism and public education.

Wang Qinmin praised rich biodiversity and beautiful landscape of XTBG. He also gave recognition for the mode of promoting tourism and popular science, and achievement in scientific research and campus construction.
