The 4th Famous Flower and Garden Show of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was held in Nanjing Botanical Garden Memorial Sun Yat-Sen on November 18. The event was attended by directors of botanical gardens of CAS and other institutions.  Prof. Chen Jin of XTBG spoke on the opening ceremony.
The Famous Flower and Garden Show of CAS was sponsored by the Federation of internet-based public education of CAS botanical gardens. It’s aimed to showcase the best blooms and foliage of botanical gardens and increase awareness of biodiversity conservation. Since 2012, four exhibitions have been held in Kunming, Wuhan, Beijing, and Nanjing.
In this year’s event, Maple leaf culture festival of Nanjing Botanical Garden Memorial Sun Yat-Sen was concurrently held. The visitors were greeted with beauty of flowers and gardening. They had fun, admired the various types of flowers and participated in the exhibition. They were especially impressed by red maple leaves, took photos and lingered on.
