An exhibition focusing on plants and tropical rainforest ethnic culture of Xishaungbanna was opened in Guiyang on July 17. The exhibition was jointly organized by Guizhou Science & Technology Museum, Guizhou Botanical Garden, and Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG). It’s aimed to help people in Guizhou have a better understanding on the rich tropical rainforest in Xishuangbanna and its culture. Tropical rainforest is the richest and most complex ecosystem on our planet. The exhibit features a diverse collection of plants (such as dancing grass, etc.), seeds, photos of rainforest plants and animals, ethnic cultures, etc. Knowledge on plants, animals, biodiversity, examples of harmonious development between man and nature is introduced. Rich plant resources and charming ethnic culture of Guozhou are also on show, which is sponsored by Guizhou Botanical Garden. Mr. Li Hongwei, CPC secretary of XTBG, made a speech at the opening ceremony of the exhibition in Guizhou. Other leaders of related institutions were shown around the exhibition by tour guides of Dai nationalities.
