Scholars gather to discuss future development of Yuanjiang Hot and Dry Valley Observation Station

More than 50 scholars and local officials gathered together in Yuanjiang, Yunnan from May 6-8. The gathering was for the meeting of the first academic committee of Yuanjiang Hot and Dry Valley Observation Station. 

11 scholars have been invited as members of the academic committee. Prof. Wang Kelin was named as chairman and Prof. Chen Jin serves as vice chairman. XTBG director Chen Jin conferred certificates to the members. 

The participating scholars discussed future development of the research station by conducting and supporting short-term and long-term research and science delivery about savanna ecosystems and resource management. 

  

ABOUT 

Yuanjiang Hot and Dry Valley Observation Station was founded in 2011 by Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG). The Station has equipped with laboratory analysis instruments and living facilities and supported many research projects. 

It has been listed on the nine observation and research stations of Yunnan Province since 2019.
