2023 Academic Annual Conference of XTBG

The 2023 Academic Annual Conference and Cai Xitao Youth Academic Forum of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) took place on November 30 and December 1. More than 300 participants including principal investigators, senior researchers, young researchers and students gathered together to learn from each other through oral presentations, poster presentations, plenary speeches, and others. 

Prof. Yang Yongping, director of XTBG, delivered an opening speech and reviewed work progress in the year. He emphasized that the major mission of the garden. 

On the first day, a lecture by Prof. Wang Shaopeng from Beijing University  was brought online to all participants, leading them to understanding Biodiversity at landscape scale and stability maintenance.    

The three plenary presentations were made by Dong Shihao, Han Xiao and Bai Yang, on behalf of the two key laboratories and conservation center respectively. Afterwards, 38 oral presentations by principal investigators, oral and poster presentations concerning research progress were available.  

This year, the CAi Xitao Youth Academic Forum was concurrently held, including three presentation platforms for early-career researchers, young engineers, and students. 40 presentations made the meaningful and attractive. 

 The two-day conference was a complete one. At the closing ceremony, Prof. Gan Fanyuan encouraged XTBG researchers to collaborate more with each other.  

Prof. Xing Yaowu, deputy director of XTBG, chaired the closing ceremony.
