A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) and Yunnan Institute of Forestry Inventory and Planning (YIFIP) on June 10. As representatives of the two sides, president Hu Zonghua of YIFIP and director Xing Yaowu of XTBG, outlined their respective institutions' core missions and strengths, emphasizing the solid foundation and significant potential for collaboration between the two sides. Prof. Yang Jie and Prof. Song Qinghai made presentations concerning “Research on processes ans dynamics of forest ecosystems in Yunnan” and “Dynamics of carbon sinks in forest ecosystems of Yunnan” respectively. The participants had in-depth discussion on potential collaborations. According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in technical exchange, joint platform development, talent cultivation, etc. They target to serve China's national "dual carbon" goals (carbon peak and carbon neutrality) and supporting Yunnan's ecological civilization construction.
