Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) has been selected to host the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation (ATBC). The official notification was received from ATBC Executive Director Lúcia G. Lohmann on July 15, 2025. The ATBC council spoke highly of XTBG’s proposal presented at the council’s meeting in Oaxaca, Mexico, in mid-June 2025. The council regarded the proposal as comprehensive and in depth. They also expressed confidence in the organizing and scientific committee. The theme of ATBC 2026 will be “Achieving a shared ecological civilization for long-term resilience”, aiming to accelerate advancements in tropical biology research and significantly enhance scientific exchange and collaboration among researchers globally.
