XTBG’s proposal for hosting the “Training Program on Botanical Gardens and Sustainable Development for ASEAN Countries” has been recently approved by Chinese Ministry of Commerce. The workshop is to be held at XTBG from November 10 to 30, 2009.

About 30 staff of botanical gardens from ASEAN countries will participate in the program. It is aimed to assist staff of regional botanical gardens to improve their skills in management, personnel exchanges, and horticultural skills in maintaining their respective plant collections. Through the program, botanical gardens from both China and ASEAN countries will enhance their capability in the protection and utilization of biological resources.
