MAJOR FIELD OF RESEARCH:
The Tropical Timber group focus on the research and development and cultivation techniques of tropical and subtropical bio-energy plants including timber, bamboo and rattan, and bio-energy plants, as well as carry out the researches and demonstrations and cultivation techniques of the agroforestry so as to provide new plant resources and scientific and technological support for the rational utilization of tropical mountain and social economic sustainable development as well as biodiversity conservation..

1. Breeding and high production for bio-energy plant Jatropha curcas (Supervisor: Yang Qing, 150,000 yuan, 2006-2009)

7. Research and demonstration for good quality and high production of rattanspecies (Supervisor: Tang Jinawei, 150,000 yuan, 2007-2009)
8. Construction and demonstration for agroforestry in tropical mountain in Xishuangbanna (Supervisor: Tang Jinawei, 300,000 yuan, 2005-2008)
