Biogeochemistry laboratory is an indispensable unit of the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. We strive to provide high precision data of chemical analysis and technical support on timely manner for research centers of forest ecology, conservation biology, and ethnobotany and for the Chinese Ecological Research Network stations of Ailao Mountains and Xishuangbanna.  We also provide services on inorganic chemical analysis of plant and soil materials for researchers from other institutions and private sectors with a cost-based fee.
     Biogeochemistry laboratory at XTBG is equipped with up-to-date analytical tools. It is currently the analytical center of inorganic chemistry serving four institutes under the Kunming branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.  Our goals are to become a nationally certified analytical laboratory by 2009 and a key analytical center for soil and plant analysis in Southeast Asia within additional 5 to 10 years.
