According to the CERN Annual Assessment Report 2004 issued by the Administrative Office of Chinese Ecosystem Research Network (CERN), Xishuangbanna Tropical Rainforest Ecosystem Station ranks second, paratactic with Luancheng Agro-Ecosystem Experimental Station, Yingtan Ecological Experimental Station of Red Soil, and Hailun Experimental Station of Agricultural Ecology, among the 31 land field stations subordinate to CERN.

The CERN annual assessment on the performances and capability of the stations focused on the monitoring and data quality management, effective information system building and management, and hydrology, soil, atmosphere and biology factor conventional observation.

 

  Ailaoshan Forest Ecosystem Research Center ranks first among the 6 stations newly accessed to the CERN.
