Myanmar and Lao partners visit XTBG

Researchers from Myanmar Forestry Research Institute and Lao Biotechnology and Ecology Institute paid a visit to Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) from June 28 to July 3. They also participated in the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation (ATBC) held in Jinghong.

Prof. Xing Yaowu, director of XTBG and director of Southeast Asia Biodiversity Research Institute (SEABRI), had separate meetings with heads of the two institutions. The talks focused on collaboration priorities, including personnel training, academic meetings, field investigations, etc.

The researchers had a general understanding of the research capacity and infrastructure of XTBG, after visiting its scientific research facilities and living collections.

Researchers from Myanmar Forestry Research Institute also visited Kunming Institute of Botany (KIB) and other institutions for further exchange and cooperation opportunities.

Xing Yaowu has separate meetings with Myanmar and Lao partners.
